Week 4 Reflection

I really enjoyed reading about the different strategies for sustaining improvement this week. I enjoyed learning about the CARE model and thinking about sustaining the things that are working in our system as we work towards change.

My meeting with my site supervisor went well and I made only a few necessary adjustments to my action research plan. I intend to create my surveys online and use our school messenger system for communication with parents. My site supervisor is very excited about and supportive of my research.

I am anxious to get started but a little concerned how I will balance work, school, home, and my research. I plan to schedule necessary research activities on my calendar. I will also ask my site supervisor to hold me accountable. I have enjoyed reading other's blogs this week and I sincerely wish everyone the best!

  1. I am wondering how you plan on asking your site supervisor to hold you accountable.
    Thank you

  2. Hi Kate,

I am interested in the type of data you are going to collect for your action research plan. I am very interested in your action research because our middle school has an tutorial period during the school day. Once the students get to high school they do not get that tutorial time which means they have more homework. I wonder if this impacts students success because they are not use to the rigor of high school class work outside of class.

  3. Kate I think you will do great. like you I am concerned about maintaining balance between family, work, research, other courses, and the various intern projects. i just have to remember it will not always be like this.

    Good Luck and God Bless

  4. I am impressed with the organization of your action steps, and I am curious to see what the effects are of removing a tutorial period. My principal is considering removing our advisory period where our students mostly work on homework. This would be excellent research to present to him! Good Luck!
